Ion-Exchange Strengthening:
The Science Behind the Durability

Sodium ions replaced by larger potassium ions at ~400°C -- creating a compressive stress layer that makes cover glass 4-8× stronger than standard annealed glass, without sacrificing optical clarity.

Engineer's Note

Unlike thermally tempered glass, chemically strengthened glass is cut and drilled before strengthening -- enabling complex hole patterns and custom geometries without compromising the stress layer.
